Dunkeld Writers Festival is held on the last weekend of August each year in several venues throughout the Dunkeld township. Over the past five years the Festival has established itself as one of regional Victoria’s most distinctive literary gatherings, known for its thoughtful programming, intimate atmosphere and spectacular Southern Grampians (Gariwerd) setting.

Since inception the Festival has welcomed an impressive line-up of acclaimed Australian writers, thinkers and storytellers including Thomas Mayo, Marcia Langton, Barry Jones, Ben Shewry, Gideon Haigh, Tony Wright, Chris Hammer, Rick Morton, Marieke Hardy, Michael Williams, Sarah Krasnostein, Jock Serong, Karen Viggers, JP Pomare, Leigh Hobbs and Natalie Paull, among many others.
