SCHOOLS PROGRAM

The Dunkeld Writers Festival Schools Program aims to inspire a love of reading, writing and storytelling in young people across our region by connecting students with some of Australia’s most celebrated authors and illustrators. Through engaging talks and creative workshops, the program encourages imagination, curiosity and a lasting connection to books and ideas.

This year we are excited to be hosting Simone Cain for talks with local schools in the Southern Grampians region.

Simone Kain is the creator, founder and author of the award-winning George the Farmer series, a much-loved children’s brand inspiring young readers to discover where their food and fibre come from through fun, engaging stories.

Past participating authors in our Schools Program include Leigh Hobbs (2024) and Kate Mildenhall (2025).
